On April 14th 2010 at 5pm The DoubleTree SurfComer  received it’s Silver Green Business Certification from the Green Business League. . The SurfComber already earned it’s State of Florida Certification and has now added a Green Business League National and International Certification to its list of accomplishments. The Entire staff and management deserve all the praise they received at the event for their hard work and dedication to making the DoubleTree SurfComber a more sustainable  Hotel and becoming certified The DoubleTree Green Team has laid out it’s sustainability plan and working with their Green Consultant Kurt Morrow

expects to celebrating it’s Gold level Green Certification within a the next 12 months.

The event  also featured four Vendors receiving their Green business League Certifications and or Green Supply Chain Certification. At the event receiving awards were Al Mendoza CEO of  CES  Commercial Energy Specialists, Charlie Woodword for Extreme Mobile Coatings,  Joseph Moretti for Clean Air Today and Rick Buell for Clean Marine.

Over 30 Hotels in the south Florida Area are presently undergoing their assessments and many will soon be receiving their National and or InterNation Certifications from The Green Business League.

I know, I’m being a geek. You are not supposed to like going to work…or your boss. I’m sorry, but doing what I love and loving what I’m doing got me off that merry-go-round. How?

First, my boss is Mother Nature and I live and work in paradise – Miami Beach. It’s a tough job but somebody’s got to do it! Next, I get to earn a healthy six- figure income this year while changing the planet for the better. Is that what they mean when they say that “Green is Green”? Or is it because The Green Business League’s approach to Green Business Consulting is Zero-Cost Consulting? This simply means that the recommendations we make to our clients  pay for themselves in actual cost savings within 12-24 months. After that, the monthly savings accrues to the bottom line. And, almost more importantly, you’re providing your employees a healthier place to work. And don’t forget that you are doing your part for my boss, Mother Nature, as well!

What we do has a ripple effect on the economy and planet that can’t be easily measured because, in doing our job and educating our customers, we create a tsunami effect of green jobs and eco-cultural change in our path. Did I say we do it? Yes, but our customers should get the real credit because they are the ones that institute all the changes by greening the supply chain, buying green products and hiring green.
